Save Money Using Coupons

Posted by Cecile at Friday, August 28, 2009 3 comments
My mother in-law is a very frugal person. She does all she can to save when shopping. She collects coupons from newspaper every Sunday. I remember when Jacob was still a baby, she cuts coupon and gave it to me for Jacob's diaper, formula milk, wipes and baby foods. Those coupons saved us some money. I learned to cut coupons and use them from her. Kisty, a friend from church is a great shopper because she also uses coupon in every store she shops. Many grocery stores offer coupons for their customers to save and I am glad that I can avail of that and save especially during family gathering like Christmas,Thanksgiving Day and birthdays. There was one time my husband was very surprised when I told him how much I have saved from using coupons when I went grocery shopping and that helps because he started cutting coupons as well. Now, we not only use coupons for shopping but also when we dine out and stay at hotels when we are on the road. Back to my mother in-law, she told me that you can also get free online coupons I can use at Kohls, Target, Macy's, Amazon.com, and many more. I can even use coupon when I buy costumes for my son this Halloween. If you want to save money when you shop, you should go to savings.com for online coupons and more free coupons.

Mommy Moments: Name Game

mommy moments

It's Friday and that means, Mommy Moments one again. Here is my entry for this week's theme "Name Game."

Our son's first name is Jacob. We got it from the Old Testament (Bible), in Hebrew it means "Holder of the heel". In the Old Testament, Jacob was born holding his twin brother Esau's heel. Namesake Jacob Grimm, the German linguist and writer, was the author of "Grimm's Fairy Tales" with his brother Wilhelm. Jacobus is the Latin form of the name. His middle name is Agarem (an Ilocano word means in Tagalog Manligaw) which is my father's surname.

Ruth is our daughter's (deceased) first name which means "Companion" in Hebrew. We really like her life story in the Old Testament (Bible). In the Old Testament book by the same name, Ruth was a young Moabite widow who was devoted to her mother-in-law, Naomi. Her middle and last name was same as Jacob, our son.

The name has been popular since the 17th century and joined the top 10 on the chart in 1892 and stayed there until 1930, peaking at No. 3 in 1893. Bringing attention to the name in the late 1960s and early 1970s is actress Ruth Buzzi, especially known for her performances on the comedy show, "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In." Influenced by award-winning author Ruth Rendell who has written so many "crime" novels between the 1960s and 2000s that she is often called the "Queen of Crime." Popular as a combination name, such as Ruthanne or Ruthellen.

Words to Live By!

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered.
FORGIVE THEM ANYWAY.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives.
BE KIND ANYWAY.
If you are honest, people may cheat you.
BE HONEST ANYWAY.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
BE HAPPY ANYWAY.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
DO GOOD ANYWAY.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough.
GIVE YOUR BEST ANYWAY.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
IT NEVER WAS BETWEEN YOU AND THEM ANYWAY."

Experience the Summer Spectacular in Branson!

Going on a vacation every once in a while is not bad at all since you had a blast every time. And if you are looking for a nice and relaxing family vacation this summer, why not consider a vacation in Branson, Missouri, the entertainment capital of the Midwest as what people call it. You will be surprised on the countless ways to relax and have fun with your family in Branson. This place will also give you chance for a perfect vacation where you can check the local boutiques and shops or simply spend sometime on a beautiful river walk. If you want to dine in a fancy local restaurants, they have it there, too!

In addition, you will have fun playing golf at the beautiful and scenic Payne Stewart golf course designed by the professional golfing legend Payne Stewart himself and managed by Hilton Golf. My family and I have never been there, but according to what our friends said, Branson is one of the best and must see place to go to. And if you decided to go, accommodation would not be a problem because you can stay at either two of the famous hotels like the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. These hotels offer the state of the art amenities and best services a customer could ever ask for. Plus, both of them are within a driving distance of Branson’s championship golf courses, lakes, museums and 49 live entertainment theaters. When I get there, I would probably go shopping, go to one of the nearby lakes, and dinner in one of the finest restaurant in town.

Right now, there is an ongoing events going on at Branson for young and adult alike such as concerts by Lost Highway, Firefall and Big Smith at the Branson Landing, the 21st Annual Downtown Branson Fiddle Fest, Silver Dollar City’s fun-filled National Kidsfest and Southern Gospel Picnic, and more. So what are you waiting for? You should book a reservation now!

My Husband Can Attest to This!

Your Sleeping Position Says You Need Peace

You are calm and rational person with a good deal of balance in your life.
Friends consider you to be kind, caring, and truly loyal.
You are easy going and trusting. However, you are too sensible to fall for mind games.
Open to the world, you are not afraid to be yourself.
If you don't get enough sleep, you are: Able to cope
It's hard to sleep next to you because: You're a bed hog

What Does Your Sleeping Position Say About You?

My husband was laughing when he read this. I am indeed a bed hog!

Posted by Cecile at Sunday, August 16, 2009 2 comments
As parents or guardian, it is normal for us to worry about our kids when they are outside home while we are at work. It is not that we don't trust them, but more on the pressure they get from the many influences in the world today. Good thing there is a website designed for parents and children alike. At ParentsConnect.com you can now get updates with the coming events and activities in your local area. This site has help me a lot when I was looking for activities available for my son during summer break. I am sure it can help you, too anytime of the year. You maybe at work, but since you are connected, you know the activities they are busy with in the community where you live. The best thing I like about this website is that, they are also helping kids socialize as well as get to know the people around them. Not only that, for parents like us, we can also get a chance to win $1,000 if we get the most views. How? All we have to do is install the widget on our blogs or sites. Imagine, you not only help yourself and your kids, but also others when they view the site through the widget. I have already placed the widget on my site, what about you?

X-Play from G4

Posted by Cecile at Wednesday, August 12, 2009 4 comments
I used to play games when I still have my gameboy; and I love the Pacman and the Mario Brothers. Then I stopped playing when I get bored with it. Then my husband purchased an Xbox 360, my desire to play games came back to life once again. My husband and I get addicted to it. He loves the Final Fantasy series and the Guitar Hero. I thought he was too old for that, but I was wrong when I tried it myself. I feel like I am a rock star when I hit the right notes. From then on I wouldn't let a day pass without playing this game.

One day, my husband came home from work and surprised me with a game called Diablo. It doesn't sound good, but the game is actually great to play; so we decided to buy one more of the Diablo game. This game is actually fun to play with though there was a problem on Diablo 11, but they have fixed it. I can't wait till the Diablo 111 comes this winter Of December 2009.

Unknown-2

If you are a game fanatic like us, you should check this website X-Play by G4 for they have best hints, cheats and tips on almost any game you can think of. They even have some game reviews also, doesn't that sound cool or what? Anyway, they have new game featured that I like which is the Scribblenauts! Raise The Dead! I would really love to have one of this game also! So, if you are interested check out X-Play for your own game reviews now!

Saturday 9: Rain

Posted by Cecile at Monday, August 03, 2009 3 comments
Welcome to Saturday: 9 . What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Rain

1. What do you typically like to do on a rainy day?
~~ Sit on the couch watching T.V. with hubby.
2. Tell us about the last time you did something you later regretted, that you can share with us.
~~ When I criticized my husband's driving.
3. I recently got an email from a lover from a very long time ago. I was asked "Have all your dreams come true?" If it were you and it was from someone you remember fondly, how would you answer the question?
~~ I would say, "yes" why do you care?
4. If you had a job interview and was asked, "If you were an animal, what kind would you be (other than human?)" How would you answer that question.
~~ I would like to be a bird. I want to fly to see the whole world, free!
5. Do you think it is a good idea to share with a new lover stories of your past lovers?
~~ Why not? My husband and I trusts each other enough to share stories from past lovers.
6. When do you think it is permissible or even important to lie?
~~ Lying is not good and I think there is no excuse doing it. But as human, we are too weak not to lie every once in a while. White lie is still a lie.
7. What was the last thing you did that you never thought you would?
~~ Being nice to people who don't like me.
8. What is one important lesson that you learned from your mother?
~~ Unselfish love and Hard work.
9. What is one important lesson that you learned from your father?
~~ Patience is a virtue, loving unconditionally.
